Former Mount de Sales band director files discrimination charges against school

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A former Mount de Sales band director is pressing charges after being fired for wanting to marry his partner later this year. 

In May, the catholic school terminated Flint Dollar after he announced he was marrying his partner in October. 

Dollar’s attorney, Charles Cox, says he filed an “unlawful gender discrimination” charges on Friday, June 20 with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. 

Cox says Dollar hasn’t been able to find another job since he was fired. 

41NBC reached out to Mount de Sales for a comment, but did not hear back.
