ATLANTA (41NBC/WMGT) — Former NFL wide receiver Ricardo Lockette was arrested in Atlanta this week on multiple charges, according to Fulton County Jail records.
The 37-year-old Albany native, who attended Monroe High School before playing in college at Fort Valley State, appeared in 34 games over four seasons (2011, 2013, 2015, 2015) with the Seattle Seahawks, according to pro-football-reference.com
“They’re gonna evaluate you against the top 25 receivers in the nation,” he told 41NBC in January 2011. “And then it’s up to me to just perform. Personally I feel like I should have the best times in every aspect of the combine.”
Lockette was taken into custody by the Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday before being granted an unsecured judicial release on Thursday.
Jail records show he was charged with theft by receiving stolen property and possession of vehicle with altered VIN. He was initially charged with possession of a firearm or knife during the commission of a felony. However, that charge was dismissed without further details provided.
