Former Bobcat dealt to Arizona Diamondbacks organization

LAKEWOOD, N.J. (GC ATHLETICS) – Former Georgia College baseball student-athlete Josh Taylor (2014) has been traded to the Arizona Diamondbacks organization, as announced July 5.

Taylor had been a member of the Lakewood BlueClaws, a Single A affiliate of the Philadelphia Phillies. He was 4-5 with a 4.61 ERA this season, fanning 70 over 68 1/3 innings. Taylor was named the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Week June 15.

Taylor, pitcher Chris Oliver and the Phillies’ first international bonus pool slot were dealt by for the Diamondbacks’ first international bonus poll slot.

His new minor-league team assignment has yet to be announced.
