Former Bibb County Public Works Director Howard to retire, will not accept new director’s position

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Former Bibb County Public Works Director Cliff Howard is retiring, and he won’t be accepting the new director’s position in Macon-Bibb.

He said he and the county could not agree on a salary figure.

Mayor Robert Reichert included Howard on his list of recommendations the Board of Commissioners approved at Tuesday’s board meeting.

However, he confirmed this morning that he turned down the position.

The Mayor will consider a new candidate for the position, which the Board of Commissioners will approve at a later date.
