Family welcomes first born on Christmas Day

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Santa was busy delivering presents on Christmas, and a Macon family received the gift of life.

“It was a Christmas miracle. I didn’t expect to have my first-born son on Christmas because his due date was January the 7th,” mother Jasmine Anderson said.

Anderson and Quantez Brown had plans of having Christmas with their families for some good food, family, and fun.

“My original plan was just me and the family. We were having a Christmas party at my house,”  she said.

When visions of sugar plums danced in Anderson’s head, she woke up in the middle of the night to use the washroom.

“It just felt like a whole water wave just came rushing out. That’s when I knew my water broke,” she said.

Anderson didn’t have unbearable contractions until she was on her way to Coliseum Medical Centers. By time she was ready for an epidural, it was too late. She had to have the baby naturally.

“He was coming real fast like he was ready to get out,” Anderson said.

Her six pound, 12 ounce, 20 inch long Christmas present, Braylon Brown, had arrived.

“I was scared at first, but I just got over that fear as soon as I heard him cry for the first time,” she said.

Anderson says she didn’t want the family party in her delivery room.

“I thought everyone was going to cancel their plans, but I told them don’t cancel your plans. You can continue the celebration, just celebrate me and the little bundle of joy that decided to come,” Anderson said.

Doctors were even surprised baby Braylon came on Christmas. Doctors say they were expecting her to deliver closer to her due date.
