Sandersville man arrested after Fall Line Freeway chase
Deputies say the suspect was arrested after a pursuit and deputies later found cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle.

SANDERSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Sandersville man was arrested after law enforcement says he fled following a hit-and-run crash on the Fall Line Freeway.
According to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and Sandersville police responded Friday to a report of a Dodge Charger involved in a hit-and-run crash west of Sandersville on the Fall Line Freeway. According to the sheriff’s office, the vehicle struck two other vehicles before leaving the scene.
Officers with the Sandersville Police Department later spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop, but the driver refused to stop, leading to a pursuit, according to the sheriff’s office.
The chase ended after a Washington County deputy performed a PIT maneuver.
Th driver, identified as 71-year-old Bennie Lee Poole Sr. of Sandersville, was taken into custody.
Deputies say they found cocaine and marijuana inside the vehicle. They have not released a list of charges.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash, according to the sheriff’s office.
