UPDATE: Elam Alexander teacher accused of breaking student’s arm arrested

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An Elam Alexander Elementary School teacher wanted by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, accused of breaking a student’s arm turned himself over to deputies Friday morning

According to a news release, 63-year-old William E. Wright III tackled a 14-year-old male student to the ground at the school. He charged with cruelty to children.

The assault was reported to Department of Family and Children Services on January 26. The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office was notified of the incident on February 24.

Wright was released on an $11,200 bond.
