UPDATE: 15-year-old in custody after east Macon shooting

Deputies say a firearm was recovered after the teen was taken into custody Tuesday.

UPDATE (1/6/26): A 15-year-old from Macon is now in custody in connection with a shooting Monday night in east Macon that left a man in critical condition.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force took the teen into custody just before noon Tuesday after the execution of an arrest warrant at a home in the 2500 block of Millerfield Road. Deputies say a firearm was recovered.

The teen, who was not identified, was taken to the Macon Regional Youth Detention Center. He’s charged with aggravated assault.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) —A 25-year-old man is in critical condition at the hospital after a shooting in east Macon Monday night.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies were called to the 2200 block of Recreation Road at 7:34 p.m. in reference to a person shot.

Deputies arrived and found a man with a gunshot wound. An ambulance took him to the hospital.
