East Macon car collision leaves one man dead

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A fatal car accident in east Macon left one man dead and another injured.

The Bibb Sheriff’s Office investigates the incident that took place on Columbus Road, near the intersection of Cavalier Drive on Sunday morning around 3:30 p.m.

According to a news release, 28-year-old Aaron Hendley was driving eastbound in a blue Range Rover when he collided with a family of four in their Chevrolet Suburban.

Reports say 30-year-old Patricia Smith was driving, with 32-year-old Patrick Howard in the passenger seat. A 6-year-old and 9-year-old were in the back seat.

Howard was pronounced dead on the scene.

The three surviving passengers were taken to the hospital, and are listed in critical condition.
