Dudley sweeps WRALL, wins District 5 12U tournament

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dudley needed to beat Warner Robins American West twice to win the Little League Baseball District 5 12U Tournament.

It did just that, beating WRALL West 12-1 and 10-4 to advance to next month’s state tournament in Peachtree City.

Dudley, appearing in the district finals out of the loser’s bracket, won by run-rule in game one on Tuesday, setting up a winner-take-all matchup on Wednesday.

Trailing 4-3 with two outs in the top of the sixth inning, Ty Orr’s two-run home run to left field gave Dudley its first lead of the night. The team from Laurens County would add five more runs before recording three quick outs in the bottom of the sixth to clinch the title.

The state tournament winner advances to the Little League Baseball Southeastern Region Tournament later this summer in Warner Robins.
