Library materials now available at downtown Macon bus station

Cardholders can request books and other materials before picking them up or returning them at the bus station.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Macon-Bibb County Transit Authority opened a new book locker at its downtown bus station Thursday through a partnership with the Middle Georgia Regional Library.

The Downtown Bus Station Book Locker allows people with a PINES library card to request books and other library materials through the PINES app or on a smartphone, then pick them up or return them at the bus station.

Transit authority and library representatives marked the new service with a ribbon cutting.

The transit authority also held its second annual Community Services Fair as well as the second annual Macon Celebrity Story & Song Hour.
