County Line Store could be unincorporated Monroe County’s first liquor store

The County Line Store on Thomaston Road is applying for a liquor license following voter approval of packaged sales earlier this year.

MONROE COUNTY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Residents living in unincorporated Monroe County will soon find out if they’ll get their first liquor store.

On September 29, the Monroe County Zoning Board will hear an application about it. On October 7, the application will pass on to the Monroe County Board of Commissioners for a final vote.

Monroe County Public Information Officer Richard Dumas said in February 2025, voters voted 77% to 23% in favor of packaged sales in the county.

The store requesting the liquor license is called County Line Store, located at 9002 Thomaston Road on Highway 74 in Macon.

Dumas told 41NBC County Line Store sells beers and wines currently.
