Cooler weather kicks off the new week

Oh Yes

MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Fall conditions have taken over the Peach State following a cold front this weekend.

Today

Clouds Later Today Monday Humidity

The time of year where if you forget your sweater in the morning you’ll freeze but if you keep it on all day you’ll sweat has arrived. Temperatures out the door this morning were in the lower 40s across Middle GA. The skies were also clear to kick things off, however we will see our fair share of cirrus clouds across the region this afternoon and into tonight. Plenty of sunshine will get through these as per usual, setting the stage for a pleasant Monday afternoon. High temperatures will top off in the low to mid 70s around the region as wind blows in from the northeast. Overnight the high level clouds will remain in place as temperatures fall into the mid 40s across the region. The wind will be calm and variable.

Tomorrow

Ok But Tomorrow Is Gonna Be Sunny Tuesday Humidity

There aren’t going to be a lot of differences between today and tomorrow as pleasant conditions are expected once again. The out the door temperatures will be a couple of degrees warmer tomorrow, and cloud cover will be reduced in the afternoon to about zero. Sunny skies will bring about high temperatures in the mid to upper 70s across the region. The wind will be blowing from the southeast at about 5 mph, slowly beginning to return humidity to the Georgia atmosphere. This increase in humidity will likely not be felt tomorrow as the fall conditions continue. Overnight the cloud cover will begin to return as temperatures fall into the upper 40s and lower 50s around the region. The wind will also shift further south, bringing in more humidity.

Wednesday and Beyond

Wednesday Humidity

While it won’t be noticeable tomorrow, the return of humidity will become noticeable beginning Wednesday. The wind will shift completely to to the south by the lunchtime hours of Wednesday as temperatures climb into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Cloud cover will be a mix of high level cirrus clouds and mid-level cumulus clouds. A warm front will begin to move through Georgia late on Wednesday, bringing a chance for a shower or two late in the day. Temperatures overnight will fall into the mid to upper 50s as humidity continues to rise.

The humidity will only increase further heading into Thursday with  a southwest wind bringing in gulf heat and moisture behind the warm front. Storm chances will ramp up greatly during the afternoon hours ahead of the next cold front. Ahead of it, however, our high temperatures will reach the lower 80s for most of Middle GA under partly cloudy skies. Speaking of the next cold front, it looks to bring a lot more storm activity than the one this past weekend while not dropping temperatures by nearly as much. As of right now, however, severe weather is not anticipated with the passing of the next cold front. Sunny skies will follow in its passing and carry through the weekend.
