Colts hoping to have key players back for playoffs

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Coach Chuck Pagano says he expects most of the Colts’ injured players to be back on the practice field this week.

Pagano told reporters Monday he’s hopeful tight end Dwayne Allen, safety Sergio Brown, offensive linemen Gosder Cherilus and Joe Reitz, linebacker Jerrell Freeman and receiver Reggie Wayne would practice this week. Indy (11-5) hosts Cincinnati (10-5-1) in an AFC wild-card game Sunday.

Pagano says the Colts are still awaiting test results on right guard Hugh Thornton, who injured his right shoulder Sunday at Tennessee. Offensive lineman A.Q. Shipley (ankle) and linebacker Bjoern Werner (shoulder) are day to day.

Chief operating officer Pete Ward says the Colts also have approximately 7,000 tickets remaining for Sunday’s game.
