Coach’s Corner: New coach for East Laurens Falcons for 2016
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The East Laurens Falcons enter the 2016 season with a new coach: former defensive coordinator Chris Robinson.
Robinson takes over for former coach Buddy Sorrow. Robinson was the defensive coordinator for the Falcons for the last five years.
East Laurens hasn’t had a winning season since 2012, finishing 4-6 last year.
The last playoff win for the Falcons came in 2000.
They will play in Region 3-AA along with Dublin, Washington County, Bleckley County, Dodge County, Southwest, and Northeast.
OFFENSE:
The Falcons scored 22.7 points-per-game last season.
Coach Robinson will enact a Wing T offense, with the help of senior quarterback Dillon Hall, C Peyton Brinson, and FB Bryce Robinson.
DEFENSE:
The Falcons will need to shore up their defense, as they allowed 36.8 points-per-game last season.
FIRST GAME: August 19th at Toombs County.
FIRST HOME GAME: September 9th versus Tattnall.
