Church donates tools to Macon gardener who fell victim to robbery
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – More than a month ago, a gardener at a local church had his van and tools stolen.
That same gardener was on the receiving end of a big gift last weekend.
William Tony received 13 items and tools Sunday from the congregation at Centenary Methodist Church.
“It’s a blessing,” Tony said. “If I’ve got a project to do, now I’ve got the tools to do it.”
Tony received a leaf blower, tool box, pliers, weed whacker, and an extension chord, which he says he really needed.
“It’s like a family really once you get to know the people, they’re such caring people, different from what I had pictured before I got to knowing some of them,” Tony said.
Tony’s van and tools haven’t been recovered. If you see this van, call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500.
