Children’s Health, Navicent Health celebrates grand opening

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some of the youngest patients in Middle Georgia now have a new medical facility.

Children’s Health, Navicent Health (CHNH) officials and a few patients cut the ribbon of the new facility.

It features kid friendly exam rooms, and more than 18,000 square feet of space.

CHNH outgrew its First Street location, which only had 7,700 square feet.

The new building located at 700 Spring St., has 10 additional patient rooms, larger waiting areas. It also provides better “optimal” access to Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health services, according to hospital officials.

“It’s just sheer joy that we’ve moved into the new facility and it’s just a breath of fresh air and like Dr. Saunders says, I can only smile when we think about the new facility,” says the Children’s Health, Navicent Health Medical Director, Dr. Edward Clark.

Medical Center Navicent Health employees donated nearly $400,000 for the new space.

Healthcare Employees Achieving Tomorrow known as “HEAT” have donated more than $6,000,000 to hospital projects and local healthcare charities.

CHNH provides outpatient pediatric primary care services, including well-child checkups, treatment of minor, major and chronic illnesses, physical exams, health screenings, and more.

CHNH is open Monday through Friday.
