Charles Johnson donates 750 pairs of shoes to Pulaski County Schools

HAWKINSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The big guy just keeps on giving.

Less than two months after hosting his third annual free sports camp and community weekend, Charles Johnson, former Hawkinsville Red Devil and current Carolina Panthers defensive end, donated 750 pairs of Nike shoes to Pulaski County Schools.

Some of those shoes are cleats, which will be worn by the HHS football team. The boys and girls basketball teams at HHS will also benefit from the donated shoes.  The rest of the shoes will be distributed by the superintendent’s office.

At his event in June, Johnson presented two $20,000 scholarships ($40,000 total) to a male and female senior student athlete from HHS.
