CGTC’s Shelton picked to NJCAA All-Star Team

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Central Georgia Technical College women’s basketball player Ra’Keta Shelton will participate on the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Women’s Basketball Coaches Association All-Star Team.

According to a release from CGTC, the All-Star weekend is July 23-26 in Niceville, Florida at Northwest Florida State College.

The game is part of the NJCAA’s Hall of Fame banquet, which will feature the top 40 freshmen junior college players in the nation as they rise into their sophomore seasons.

This past season, Shelton averaged 11.6 points, 9.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1.5 assists per game and was named Second Team Georgia Collegiate Ahletic Association (GCAA). She was also named to the GCAA’s All-Tournament Team.

Shelton joins Mercedes Jenkins (2014) and Ta’Kierra Gibbs (2013) as the only Lady Titans to be named to the all-star team.
