CGTC men’s basketball to open season at home

MACON, Georgia (CGTC RELEASE) – The Central Georgia Technical College (CGTC) men’s basketball team will open their season at home on Monday, November 2 at Titans Arena, located at 1780 Anthony Road in Macon. Game time is scheduled to tipoff at 7 p.m.

The Titans finished the 2014-2015 season with an 18-12 overall record and 8-10 record in Georgia Collegiate Athletic Association (GCAA) conference play. The team suffered a tough 88-84 loss to South Georgia State College in the first round of the GCAA region tournament.

Returning for the Titans are sophomores Mike Harden and Sheldon Williams. During the 2014-2015 season, Harden averaged 13.5 points, 5.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists. Williams’ season averages were 12.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and one assist. Harden and Williams received Georgia Basketball Coaches Association (GABCA) All-State honors, as Harden was named the Newcomer of the Year, and both players received GABCA Second Team All-State recognition.

Also looking to make a major impact for the Titans this season are returning sophomores Andrei St. Vistal and Lester Rochez. In their freshman seasons, St. Vistal averaged 10.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.6 assists, while Rochez pulled in 1.2 points and 2 rebounds.

In a recent preseason poll released by GCAA men’s basketball coaches, the Titans are ranked seventh in the region.
