Car Dealer arrested on fraud and forgery charges

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The owner of a Milledgeville car dealership has been arrested and accused of fraud.
 
        Robert William Kent, 51, was taken into custody following a two month Milledgeville Police investigation.

        Kent is facing 18 counts of felony and nine misdemeanor fraud and forgery charges, including, theft by conversion, theft by deception, nine counts of endangering security interest charges, three counts of title fraud and three counts of false swearing.

        “Evidence was obtained from several banks, individuals and the Department of Revenue,” said Milledgeville Police Major Reginald Hill.

        The multiple cases involve Kent Autos and Kent Motors dealerships on North Columbia Street, according to Major Hill.
