BS Report: 7 Game Lead For The Braves – Live From New York It’s Game 5

Well, the Hawks and the Braves are both back in action tonight. Let’s first talk about the Braves, who will start at 715 with their game at Truist Park against Detroit. And the standings in the National League East continue to look. Well just beautiful. Yes, beautiful. The Braves have a seven game lead on both the Marlins and the nationals, who are 13 and 16 on the season.

The Marlins lost last night, so it’s a seven game lead for Atlanta here in the last couple of days of the month of April. As for the Mets and the Phillies, where they’re in last place, nine and 19, their ten and a half games back. The Phillies actually fired their manager on Tuesday morning. Rob Thompson out. Is the manager Don Mattingly, named as the interim skipper for Philadelphia as they trying to kick start a season that has started very, very poorly.

And the Braves had that last year. So they know all about it. But it’s incredible that the Braves have the best record in baseball at 20 and nine. They have the best team E.R.A. In baseball at 3.13. They are scoring the most runs in baseball at 5.7 per game. Most runs in the game with 166. And they continue to be one of the best stories in baseball so far this year.

They will play game one of a three game set with the Tigers tonight at Truist Park. Again, 75th inning is the first pitch out of the hand of Martin Perez, who is one and one on the season. He’s done very well as a spot starter for Atlanta. Casey Mize will pitch for the Detroit Tigers then at 8:00 right here on 41 NBC.

It’s the Atlanta Hawks and the New York Knicks. Game number five of this series. It is tied at two. Wow. What a series it’s been so far. Just four really entertaining games. Now the Knicks of course kind of pushed Atlanta around on Saturday in Game four at State Farm Arena. So the Hawks have got to respond to that.

This has been a tremendous back and forth and a chess match between Mike Brown, the head coach of the Knicks, and also, of course, Quin Snyder, the head coach of the Atlanta Hawks. It’s been fun to watch these two kind of go at it, but look, the big thing for the Hawks is that Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jalen Johnson are both performing way below their standards from the regular season.

So if the Hawks are going to win tonight or for that matter, have any chance of winning this series, they have got to have those two players do better. They’ve got to score more. They’ve got to try to just create more shots. They’ve got to do well on the free throw line. They’ve got to do everything they can to be similar to what they were in the regular season.

If that happens, the Hawks are going to have a very good chance to win tonight in New York in enemy territory. And then maybe on Thursday back home in Atlanta for a game six. But it’s so crucial for JaLive From New York It’s Game 5len Johnson and for Nickeil Alexander-Walker to do their part. C.J McCollum has been outstanding in this series. But they need more.

There’s no question about it. And how will the Hawks kind of battle the physicality of the Knicks. And Karl-Anthony Towns and Mitchell Robinson tonight. After their success on Saturday in Atlanta. It’ll be interesting to see how Quin Snyder plays that tonight in game five at Madison Square Garden. And the tip will be at 8:00, right after 8:00, right here on 41 NBC.
