Braves deal Kimbrel, Melvin Upton to Padres

ATLANTA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Braves have traded away two more of their biggest names.

Craig Kimbrel, one of the best closers in baseball, was traded to San Diego Sunday along with outfielder Melvin (BJ) Upton.

In return, the Padres will send to Atlanta outfielders Cameron Maybin and Carlos Quentin, minor league pitcher Matt Wisler, minor league outfielder Jordan Paroubeck and the 41st overall pick in the draft.

Atlanta opens the regular season Monday at Miami. First pitch is at 4:10.
