Bobcat baseball takes No. 4 seed at NCAA Southeast Regional
The Bobcats will take on a familiar foe in No. 3-seed and national No. 14 University of North Georgia in the first round. The teams have split the four meetings this year, including a Bobcat win in the opening round of the PBC Tournament Saturday.
Georgia College advances to the school’s 11th appearance in an NCAA Regional, including three-straight trips. The Bobcats have taken the Regional Championship twice, advancing to the World Series in 2010 and 1995.
Host and national No. 12 Catawba is the No. 1-seed and will start with No. 6-seed North Greenville University in the double-elimination format. The other matchup in the first round features No. 2-seed and national No. 28 University of Mount Olive and No. 5-seed Wingate University.
Four of Georgia College’s 2015 opponents have advanced to NCAA Regional play, as along with North Georgia, the Bobcats had non-conference contests with West Virginia State University, Albany State University and No. 8 University of Tampa.
