Bibb deputies investigate string of business burglaries
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County sheriff’s deputies are looking for who broke into two businesses early Thursday morning.
Employees at the Starbucks on Forsyth Road found the door to the business was pried open and items were scattered in the back office.
According to a news release from the sheriff’s office, the coffee shop’s alarm box was destroyed — no alarm call went to dispatch because of the damage.
Video footage showed three males coming into the store and while one man went to the back room to disable the alarm, the other men tried stealing the store’s safe, but were unsuccessful.
Earlier this week, someone broke into the Tran Star Industries on Lake Street, five minutes down the road from the Starbucks, where the door was pried open and more than $1,000 in cash and $1200 in checks were taken.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at (478) 751-7500.
