Bibb deputies: 1 dead after five-vehicle crash on I-75

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – At least one person is dead after a five-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 South Monday afternoon.

It happened around 1:45 near the Pierce Avenue on-ramp, according to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release.

Deputies say a box truck, three pickup trucks and a sports utility vehicle were involved.

One man, identified as 66-year-old Jeffrey Louis Davis of Lyons, Georgia, was pronounced dead. Four other motorists were treated by paramedics for injuries and were taken to a medical facility. They are all listed in stable condition. One additional motorist was treated for minor injuries.

Expect traffic delays as the investigation continues.
