Bibb County Sheriff’s Office hosting free Summer Safe Camp for children ages 7-14

Camp activities run daily from 8:20 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Bibb County Board of Education Campus Police are hosting a free summer camp for children ages 7 to 14.

The 2026 Bibb County Summer Safe Camp is designed to provide participants with activities focused on safety, leadership, character development and positive interactions with law enforcement.

The camp is being offered at three middle schools across Bibb County. The first session is being held June 15-18 at Weaver Middle School. Additional sessions are scheduled for June 22-25 at Appling Middle School and June 29 through July 2 at Rutland Middle School.

Camp activities run daily from 8:20 a.m. to 2:20 p.m.

According to the sheriff’s office, each site can accommodate up to 80 children. Registration is available at the camp locations through the Bibb County Sheriff’s Outreach Section.

The sheriff’s office said breakfast and lunch are provided at no cost to participants.

Organizers say the camp includes safety and leadership training, confidence-building activities and opportunities for children to develop positive relationships with law enforcement officers.

Space remains available for all camp sessions.
