Baldwin County man arrested in child molestation investigation

Investigators say the case involves allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — A Baldwin County man has been arrested on child molestation-related charges following a Georgia Bureau of Investigation inquiry, according to the agency.

In a news release, the GBI said 53-year-old David Allen Barber was charged with child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes and grooming.

According to the GBI, the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office requested the agency May 21 to investigate allegations Barber had inappropriate sexual contact with a minor.

The investigation revealed Barber had sexual contact with a minor at his home.

The GBI says Barber was arrested May 22 and booked into the Baldwin County Jail.

The investigation remains active and ongoing. Once completed, the case file will be turned over to the Ocmulgee Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
