Arrests Made In Attempted Auto Theft and Shooting Incident
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb Sheriff’s Office investigators made two arrest in the shooting incident and attempted auto that took place just before 5:00 a.m. this morning.
Jarvis Brooks, 18 years old, from Macon was taken to the Bibb Sheriff’s Office Investigation for questioning after being released from the Medical Center. Jashayla Finney, 17 years old, from Macon was also taken to the Bibb Sheriff’s Investigations for questioning. Investigators discovered that Brooks and Finney were involved in the theft of a Honda Accord from the 100 block of Stevens Drive early Tuesday morning. They ended up at an address on Brownell Drive where they attempted to take another vehicle. It was reported that the owner of the residence on Brownell Drive heard noise outside his residence and exited his home armed with a pistol yelling at the suspects he saw in his yard. The homeowner heard a loud bang like firecracker and saw a flash of light. He returned fire and the suspects fled with the first stolen Honda. It was reported that Brooks went home and was transported to Medical Center by his mother.
Brooks is charged with theft by taking (felony) and criminal attempt to commit a felony. His bond is set at $8,100.00. Finney is charged with theft by taking (felony) and criminal attempt to commit a felony. Her bond is set at $11,100.00.
