Arrest made in West Macon homicide

UPDATE (5/1/2018) – A Bibb County grand jury charged Jace Jenkins with malice murder, felony murder and possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony in the fatal shooting of Stewart Gordon, according to the Macon Judicial Court District Attorney’s Office.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office has a suspect in custody in connection to a homicide that occurred on Burton Ave Tuesday night. Deputies were called after 38-year-old Stewart Leslie Gordon Jr. got into an argument with 21-year-old Jace Tyler Jenkins. During the argument Jenkins shot Gordon once in the chest. Gordon was taken to the Navicent Health Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased by doctors.

Jenkins was taken to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Criminal Investigative Division for questioning. After being questioned by investigators, Jenkins was charged with murder. He was transported to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center to be booked.
