Another frigid night expected around Middle Georgia

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Temperatures will again drop into the low to mid 20s across the region overnight into Wednesday morning.

It’s been a mostly sunny day around Middle Georgia as well as pretty cool with temperatures remaining below average for this time of year. Another very cold night is likely with lows expected in the low to mid 20s. Middle Georgians need to bring in any pets and small plants as well as give the faucets a slight drip. The wind will be generally from the north at around 5 mph. Cloud cover will be limited to scattered cirrus overhead.

Temperatures will climb a bit more Wednesday afternoon however highs will likely still remain a bit below the average for this time of year. Temperatures will peak in the upper 50s and lower 60s as the wind shifts from the northeast to the south throughout the afternoon. Said wind will be light. While plenty of sun is likely early on, clouds will fill in throughout the afternoon and evening.

Overnight will be mostly cloudy with a couple of small showers possible, especially after midnight. Temperatures will stay above freezing with lows likely in the upper 30s for most of the region. The wind will be light out of the south.

Thursday will be the warmest day of the week with temperatures reaching into the mid to upper 60s. A few showers will be possible, especially over the latter part of the day. More rain will be likely on Friday and again Saturday, however on Saturday it is possible this rain shifts into a mix or freezing rain over the latter parts of the day. More will become clear about overall potential as the week progresses.
