MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Afternoon temperatures in the 90s will persist Tuesday afternoon.

This Evening

A mostly sunny afternoon will become a mostly clear and muggy night around Middle Georgia as low temperatures are once again expected to remain above 70 degrees, or around 5 degrees above average. The wind will be light out of the east-southeast. Patchy fog will be possible during the sunrise on Tuesday.

Tomorrow

A partly cloudy afternoon is expected to accompany another hot day with high temperatures peaking in the mid 90s. Heat index values will likely push 100 for a good chunk of Middle Georgia. A couple of stray showers or perhaps a storm are possible but most of the region will stay dry. It is expected to be a breezy afternoon as well with easterly winds ranging from 5-15 mph. Gusts could reach as high as 20 mph.

Overnight will be mostly clear and lows should be a bit closer to normal as most of the region drops below 70 degrees. The wind will remain out of the east around 5 mph.

Wednesday and Beyond

More sunshine is likely Wednesday (and later this week as well) and the humidity will drop some despite afternoon temperatures remaining in the lower 90s. More clouds and rain look to hold off until the back half of the coming weekend at this time.
