Mercer falls to Chattanooga in overtime, 72-66
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Chattanooga came into Mercer’s Hawkins Arena and did what no road team had done this season: win.
The Mocs (22-3, 11-1 Southern Conference) needed overtime but escaped with a 72-66 win in front of another sellout crowd.
Mercer (18-7, 8-4 Southern Conference) tied the game with 41 seconds left in regulation on a three-pointer by Ethan Stair but was outscored 13-7 in the extra period.
Demetre Rivers led the Bears with 20 points and eight rebounds. Phillip Leonard added 18 points.
Andrew Fishler had a career-high eight blocks.
