Wedge delivers extra clouds and cooler temps to Middle Georgia
Middle Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Abundant cloud cover will keep temperatures down this afternoon. Labor Day brings a chance for storms, but more importantly, slightly cooler temperatures. We’re under a wedge, where extra cloud cover and additional moisture is holding down temperatures. After the summer we’ve had, this is, I’m sure, great news for many of you. Still, with the cloud cover and moisture comes a chance of rain today, so be mindful of that.
The wedge continues tomorrow, so highs are expected to remain mostly in the 80s. Moisture from the gulf lifts into the area tomorrow, increasing our rain chances with scattered showers and storms. By Wednesday, we’re still expecting the wedge to break down, delivering higher temperatures and more sunshine.
At the moment, a cold front is expected to sink into our area this weekend, increasing cloud cover/rain chances and bringing temperatures down. I’ll be watching for updates throughout the week because September is the time of the year when cold fronts start to enter the area with more regularity, usually in the middle to end of the month.
