GBI: 2 dead, 35 injured in shooting at Vienna block party

VIENNA, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two people were killed and 35 others were injured in a shooting at a neighborhood block party in Vienna early Sunday morning, according to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The GBI says Dooly County deputies were patrolling the party when shots were fired around 1:25 a.m. in the 900 block of Pine Street.

Deputies responded and found multiple people who had been shot. Two victims were found in the 600 block of Pine Street and pronounced dead at the scene, according to the GBI.

The other victims were taken to several hospitals across the region. The GBI did not release their conditions.

The two people who died will be taken to the GBI Medical Examiner’s Office for autopsies. Their identities have not been released.

The Dooly County Sheriff’s Office asked the GBI to assist with the investigation. No arrests have been announced.
