West Laurens Raiders coming off best season under Coach Nobles
MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Last season, the West Laurens Raiders finished with a record of 9-4, including two wins in the playoffs. In his four years as head coach, 2014 was Stacy Nobles’ best season.
The Raiders saw their season end in the state quarterfinals against St. Pius. It was a huge step forward for a program looking to regain a form of dominance. They’ll look to take another step as they seek to improve an offense that averaged 26.5 points a game in 2014. However, they’ll need to do it after losing their starting quarterback and two wide receivers, a duo that totaled around 2000 yards.
West Laurens allowed only 20.2 points a game on the defensive side of the ball, and will have six starters returning. That includes all three on their defensive line.
The first game for the Raiders is on August 21st, at home versus Thomasville.
