Two arrested in housing scam investigation, one wanted

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two men were arrested in a joint investigation by the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Financial Crimes Unit and Houston County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigative Division.

52-year-old Larry Ealy was arrested at the Bibb County Courthouse, Tuesday, for impersonating a lawyer. According to a news release, Ealy filed multiple court documents on behalf of co-defendants in the joint investigation.

44-year-old Dewyan Fitzgerald was also arrested in the Bibb County Court House for criminal trespass and false statements. According to the release Fitzgerald filed fake liens on a house on Fernwood Drive in Warner Robins. He’s also accused of hiring a locksmith to change the locks on the home.

Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for 34-year-old Anthony Simmons for the same crime on a property on Holley Drive in Lizella.
