Warmer temperatures will arrive later this week

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The warm-up continues in Middle Georgia. While it hasn’t been record-breaking, it has been consistent: upper 70s and 80s for highs, which kicked us off this month after what was a warmer than average March in our area. The high at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport was 82, nine degrees higher than the 73 degree average for today. And the overnight lows have been, as a whole, warmer than average for a while as we’ve woken up to 50s much earlier than we normally would (average low this time of the year is 47).

We won’t see significantly cooler temperatures until the weekend. I’ve plugged in 76 for our high tomorrow and mid-80s for our highs on Friday. Overnight lows will remain in the 50s.

On Saturday, we see a spike in the rainfall and storm chances as a cold front moves through the southeast. Severe weather is not expected, however. Once this system moves through the area, high pressure builds into the south, just in time for a wonderfully cool and dry Easter!
