Macon Music Half Marathon set for November 21, organizers seek course support
The fourth annual race will bring runners through Macon as organizers encourage residents to support them along the route.

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The fourth annual Macon Music Half Marathon is set for November 21, and organizers are encouraging residents to line the course and cheer on runners as they make their way through the city.
The event draws athletes from Macon-Bibb County, surrounding counties and other states for a course that also offers a sightseeing tour through the city. Organizers and sponsors gathered Tuesday at historic Luther Williams Field to discuss what the race means for Macon and how residents can show their support.
Chris Floore, speaking on behalf of the mayor, encouraged Macon residents to come out and cheer on the runners along the course.
“So come on out and join us,” he said. “This is a great course, and when you see runners that night wearing medals downtown or at restaurants, give them a high five because they accomplished not just the race but training for months for the race. Let’s show them the welcoming nature that is the Bibb County community.”
Organizers are encouraging residents to check the race map and position themselves along the route to support runners as they pass. A word of encouragement at mile 10 can make a difference for someone pushing through to the finish line.
