Warner Robins electrical crews helping to restore power in North Georgia

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Electrical crews out of Warner Robins are working to restore power in North Georgia.

Flint Energies EMC construction and service crews left Warner Robins around 11:00 a.m. today.

Crews are helping Hambersham EMC to restore electricity to more than 7,000 of its customers, who lost power during an ice storm, which hit the area Monday.

The crews are expected to remain in the Cleveland, Georgia area for nearly three days, according to the company’s Public Relations Manager, Marian McLemore.

“Habersham EMC was hit with an ice storm that came through North Georgia last night,” says McLemore. “They are requesting assistance in restoring power to their members in their service territory.”

McLemore says most of the 7,000 people lost power when trees or tree limbs covered in ice fell, bringing down power lines.

She added Flint Energies will continue to monitor the weather and their power stations in Middle Georgia as the temperature drops.
