Veterans High School football team sends 3 players to college

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Pens were busy at Veterans High School Wednesday for National Signing Day.

Rashad Bolton, Jamar Simmons and Corey Soloman will all play college football.

Bolton signed with the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and Simmons is heading to University of the Cumberlands in Kentucky.

Soloman will play at LaGrange College in LaGrange, Georgia.

“We just do the best we can to try and coach them up and teach them the fundamentals of the game,” said Head Coach David Bruce. “And you know with the different skill levels, some kids have the ability to play at the next level and we’re very excited that these guys are going to have that opportunity.”

Both Soloman and Bolton overcame injuries and received scholarships.

Veterans finished the season with a 3 and 9 overall record.
