Freezing temperatures in Middle Georgia forcing residents to bundle up
Service technician for Flint Energies., Danny Bell works outside, even when the temperatures take a nose dive.
“The best way is to layer in clothing and have extra clothing if possible,” says Bell. “I had on a hoodie and an extra jacket and a different pair of boots that were more insulated.”
At times the temperature dipped to as low as 17 degrees. according to 41NBC’s Chief Meteorologist, Chris Simmons, Macon broke a record Wednesday morning.
“The wind just penetrates all the clothes you got it just cuts through you,” added Bell.
Construction crews were bundled up while working on Second Street in downtown Macon, so were Georgia Department of Transportation workers on I-75.
Bell urges everyone to stay as warm as possible, by taking breaks from the cold weather and wearing gloves.
