Vacant Macon home goes up in smoke
The house on violet street was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at 11:15 a.m.
No one was found inside the vacant house. fire investigators were at the scene, to conduct a probe into what caused house fire.
Macon-Bibb County Fire Safety officer, Tim Self says firefighters were working to extinguish hot spots to ensure the blaze would not re-ignite.
“We’ll put out what we can from the exterior and then we’ll move interior as long as it’s safe to do so,” said Self. “We’ll be in the interior putting it out.”
Residents living in the area say they were proud of the quick actions of the Macon-Bibb firefighters, as they extinguish the blaze inside the vacant house.
They added, they were glad the fire did not spread to near by homes.
