More than 13 million senior citizens in the United States are without cell phones, despite the safety benefits of having the service.

The phone starts around one hundred dollars. However, if you’re trying to spend less another way to go is the Tracphone. The Tracphone is compatible with most hearing aids and starts at just $14.99.

Consumer Cappie Durden says, “I’m using the Tracphone and it’s costing me about twenty dollars every two and a half months.” He says having a mobile phone gives him a sense of security.

The Jitterbug, Tracphone and other “senior friendly” cell phones are sold in most electronic department stores.

Durden says, “It gives you a good feeling to know that in the spur of the moment you’re in contact with home or some friend that you need to talk with. It’s a very handy thing to have.”
