Bobcat Women Put 2 on PBC All-Academic Team

AUGUSTA, Ga. (GCSU RELEASE) – The Peach Belt Conference (PBC) announced its Women’s Cross Country All-Academic Team Tuesday, with Georgia College’s Rachel Pasko (Jefferson, Ga.) and Taylor Roeck (Cumming, Ga.) earning slots.

Pasko owns a perfect 4.00 GPA in biology as a sophomore. Classmate Roeck has a 3.92 in marketing.

In the six years of honoring these academic stars, the Bobcat women’s cross country team has now put 17 on the list.

Fellow Bobcats Whitney Sweet (Roswell, Ga.) and Meghan Wetterhall (Atlanta) each earned Honorable Mention status.

The team is part of a season-long program recognizing the outstanding accomplishments of PBC student-athletes in the classroom as well as on the field. To be eligible for the All-Academic team, a student-athlete must 1) participate in at least half of his/her team’s events and be either a starter or significant contributor; 2) achieved a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and 3) completed at least one full academic year at his or her current institution. The Peach Belt Conference Sports Information Directors oversee and select the teams.

The Bobcats are back in action Saturday, Nov. 9 at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship in Charlotte, N.C.
