Amputee Camp Helps Warner Robins Girl Cope with Challenges

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – For most kids, summer camp means canoeing and camp fires, but for Jordan Kozoloski, a very special camp allows her to push past her disability.

“She’s overcome so many adversities and she’s thrived and done so many things in her short life,” said Mike Kozoloksi, Jordan’s father.

The 12-year-old athlete excels at nearly everything she does and she’s always up for the challenge, despite her own. Nearly 10 years ago, Jordan’s father backed over her with a lawn mower and Jordan lost her leg. She’s had several prosthetic legs, wheelchairs and surgeries to help her take the next step.

“Sometimes when I have problems with my legs, I usually use my crutches and my wheelchair,” Jordan said.

Now the middle school student is running full speed ahead and has a wall full of trophies to prove it.

This summer she’ll add another accomplishment to the list, as she heads off to summer camp. Her family is packing up for a trip to Ohio for the Amputee Coalition Camp, a camp for children who have limb loss or limb difference. She said being around kids that are just like her during the summer inspires her to keep pushing all year round.
