Fourth Suspect Arrested in Monroe County Double Homicide

JULIETTE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) — The fourth suspect in the Monroe County double homicide was arrested in Decatur Thursday afternoon.

According to Supervisory Inspector John Edgar, with the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, 17-year-old Dave’von Sapp was arrested around 1:40 near a relative’s home off Memorial Drive in Decatur.

Edgar says through their questioning they found out Sapp had relatives in that area. This morning his office sent information up to Atlanta agents regarding Sapp’s possible whereabouts. Atlanta agents watched the house and were able to determine Sapp was staying there.

He was arrested without incident. Edgar says the sheriff’s office is on it’s way up to bring Sapp back to Monroe County.

Sapp is charged with murder along with 16-year-old Sameeria Rikiea Carter, 19-year-old Marquez Deshawn Martin, and 18-year-old Jordan Keaugh Maxwell.

The three teens are charged with murder in the deaths of 36-year-old Russell Jacobs and 40-year-old James Pittman Wood.

On Monday, May 6th, Monroe County deputies say the four shot and killed Jacobs and Wood at their home on Woods Drive in Juliette. The suspects ran off with several electronics including a television set, a computer, and cameras.

Authorities say all the suspects are associated with the gang MOE (Money Over Everything).
