Chambliss: $1.2 Trillion Automatic Spending Cuts Would Devastate Georgia, Nation

WARNER ROBINS – $1.2 trillion dollars in automatic spending cuts will kick in on January 1, 2013 unless Congress finds a way to stop that trigger from going off.

“Congress is going to have to make the decision that the country comes before politics,” says Senator Saxy Chambliss (R), Georgia.

Chambliss was in middle Georgia today warning constiuents of what he believes is a “dangerous” plan to help reduce federal spending. He says it’s time to reach across party lines to come up with a new plan, and his colleagues agree.

“The only way you’re get this is by Democrats and Republicans sitting down and hammering out a plan,” says Senator Johnny Isakson (R), Georgia.

Respresentatives Sandford Bishop and Austin Scott joined Chambliss and Isakson in Warner Robins Tuesday morning to explain business leaders what the cuts really mean.
