Georgia Tech Women Look For Long Run In NCAA Tourney

ATLANTA (AP) – Georgia Tech is back in the NCAA women’s tournament. Nothing new about that.

But the Yellow Jackets are determined to make this one memorable.

Georgia Tech (24-8) has never made it past the second round, keeping the program from gaining more national recognition. Coach MaChelle Joseph says it’s time to take the next step – to win at least two tournament games and get to the round of 16 for the first time.

The Yellow Jackets are better positioned to make such a run than ever before. They have won 15 of 17 games and went to the wire with sixth-ranked Maryland before losing in the final of the Atlantic Coast Conference tournament. They received a No. 4 seed and will face Sacred Heart in the opening round Sunday.
