Cold front arrives Friday to bring cooler weather this weekend

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A cold front moving through Georgia Friday/early Saturday will drop temperatures below seasonal norms for the coming weekend.
This Evening
A sunny afternoon will become a mostly clear and mild night across Middle Georgia as most locations should remain above 60 degrees for overnight lows into Friday morning. The wind will be light out of the southwest around 5 mph. A bit of fog may occur around sunrise Friday morning.
Tomorrow
Friday will be the cloudiest day of the week…which isn’t saying a lot given how sunny it has been so far! Overall partly sunny conditions are expected through the afternoon with any opportunity for rain likely holding off until after sunset. The odds for any showers are very slim but not quite zero. Temperatures will mostly peak in the upper 80s however the hottest spots could graze 90. The wind will increase a bit as it flows from the west-southwest at 5-12 mph. Gusts will push to around 20 mph through the afternoon.
More clouds are likely overnight with the peak window for any possible showers occurring a bit before sunrise Saturday morning. Temperatures will valley in the low to mid 50s across the region as wind from the north-northwest increases to around 12-18 mph. Gusts through the overnight hours could reach as high as 30 mph.
This Weekend and Beyond
For those who have been waiting for those crisp fall afternoons, your wait is over! Plenty of sun is likely this weekend with Saturday leaning a bit on the windy side of things. High temperatures Saturday will reach to around 70 degrees with Sunday only reaching the upper 60s. On the other end temperatures should valley below 50 degrees. Below average temperatures will carry into next week and Middle Georgians should expect above average wind to stick around for a bit as well.
